Holiday Blessings

Lynn decorates

First, we wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

Our family is all well, and for that we are very grateful. Brian, Vicki, Evan, and Megyn all enjoy their jobs and have busy lives. Our oldest granddaughter Sara is in her second year of college and doing great. The Washington grandkids are enjoying high school, middle school, and kindergarten!

Visit our 2015 memories post if you want to get a glimpse of our year.

Lynn and RobinLynn and I are having a quiet holiday season this year. We are spending time with our Fresno family and friends … for what may be the last time during the Christmas holidays (at least for a while). Late this last summer, we made the decision to live full-time in Washington. We will be selling our Fresno house in the Spring and if all works as planned, we will be departing for Washington by the end of May. Our plans are to purchase a home in Lynden, WA.

Get a bird’s eye view of Lynden by viewing the Soaring Over Lynden video.

We’ve never lived anywhere other than Fresno (other than staying part-time in Washington over the past 10 years).   Lynn was born in Fresno. My family moved to Fresno before my junior year of high school, so it is for all practical purposes my hometown, too. We raised our two sons in Fresno. We have enjoyed satisfying careers in Fresno during our four decades or so of working life. We have worshiped at College Church of Christ since 1980.  Our extended families all lived (and some still live) in the Fresno area. We have friendships going back 30-40 years. So this move is not without some emotion.

Year 2016 will be exciting for us. New beginnings at our age? Hey, why not? It’s what feels right. We are sorting through years of “things” and have pledged to keep our life simple. No more worrying about where we will be in a year, 5 years, 10 … we are open to what the Lord has in store for us and will take each day as it comes.

I will try to be better about keeping this blog up to date … those that are interested can then keep up with our progress!

Have a healthy, happy, and blessed 2016!

Lynn and Robin

Wow. We will miss you both, but what an exciting venture. Getting to permanently live so close to most of your grandkids, and one of your sons must be such a joy to contemplate. As long as there is facebook, we will stay caught up on your lives, and you with ours. We are blessed to know you. We wish you all the best.~~Aaron & Joyce

I know that was a hard decision to make, but the Washington family will be blessed to have you near them. We moved to Fresno in 1970 and decided to make our move to Colorado in 2009. Leaving behind friends and family was the hardest part of the move, but we feel so blessed to be near our sweet family here and have made wonderful friends, so now this is home. No regrets on our move, so I hope and pray everything goes well with yours. Merry Christmas to you and your family. ((Hugs))

Thanks, Linda. Seeing how this worked for you helped to give us the courage to make the decision! Have a Merry Christmas!
