We arrived in Blaine on Sunday, May 20. On the 19th, we stayed with our good friends John and Doris Burge, who live in Gig Harbor, WA. Normally we spend time on the way up with Cousin Mike and Kathi Swarthout, but they were in Russia with their son. It doesn’t seem possible that we’ve only been here for 10 days! Already, we’ve gone to McKenna’s birthday party, Lynn has built a fountain in our garden, we’ve planted flowers and cleaned up the landscaping, and I’ve completed a few web projects. And, we’re anxiously looking forward to taking the kids to Disneyland.
Every year we assume we will need to take less “stuff” up to Washington. And every year we end up packing the car full with who knows what. To be real, Lynn’s golf clubs and my clothes and accessories take up a lot of the space! But we strive to be better every year.

We’re hoping the weather is better this season … the last few years have been wet and cool. So far, some sun but mostly clouds and rain. We’ll see.
For some strange reason, I really enjoy cooking up here. Perhaps it’s because we are in such close quarters; I feel a part of the living area, bathroom, and bedroom while I’m slicing and dicing! It’s impossible to miss anything while I’m in the “kitchen.”
So now, as I type this post, I’m looking outside where it’s pouring rain. Lynn and I have gotten hooked on Downton Abbey, a PBS series that we borrowed from a friend. So, tonight it will be hot chocolate and another episode!
