The year started with our spending January in Morro Bay, and using our travel trailer for the last time. We had it sold by the end of January.
We enjoyed spending the month with friends David and Gay Morris. Then Lynn began his semester of teaching at Fresno State, and Robin continued work on various website projects.
We made a couple of trips down south to visit son Evan and his wife Megyn, and granddaughter Sara.
Easter was spent out at the home of Robin’s sister Susan’s and brother in law Steve. The “big holidays” for our family are Easter and Thanksgiving. Everyone congregates on those holidays. Robin’s sister Susan held her special Easter Egg hunt, always a challenge.
Lynn served as a Clovis Rodeo Director again this year. It was a special year … the centennial. He enjoys his time of service and always likes to support the western tradition in the area.
We left for Washington as soon as Lynn’s teaching semester was over. We were anxious to get there, as we had learned that our son Brian had a girlfriend. He sounded happier than he’d been for a long time. We were also eager to see our Washington grandkids.
We enjoyed meeting Vicki (who Brian married later that year). We also enjoyed spending time with her two sons Landon and Slater, and were happy to acquire two additional grandsons.
In June, we flew down south to celebrate granddaughter Sara’s high school graduation. It seemed impossible!
In August we went with Brian, Vicki and the grandkids to Great Wolf Lodge. It was a great first vacation with this new blended family!
The rest of the summer was spent playing that game with the funny name (Pickleball); taking trips to Vancouver, Seattle, and other areas; playing with grandkids and enjoying time with California friends up to escape the heat. We also spent a lot of time crabbing, and managed to freeze 26 cups of crab.
Son Evan and his wife Megyn also came up for a week; that was a great family time for us. We spent a day in Vancouver, and also spent time in Seattle with them.
This year, we made some new friends in the park and think we’ve found what will be our church home while in Washington, Cornwall Church.
Towards the end of October we returned to Fresno. We’re always eager to return to our family and friends there. Since then it’s been a whirlwind of holiday activities. We were happy to discover indoor Pickleball at the Clovis Recreation Center. Lynn enjoyed playing outdoors twice a week. We continued to spend a lot of time with our Fresno church family, which has been a part of our lives for almost 40 years.
In some respects it’s been a quiet year … while at the same time, family events kept things pretty hectic. Overall, we’ve been blessed and there’s a lot to be grateful for!
Have a wonderful Christmas and blessed 2015!
