A Family Fourth

We had a great day on the 4th of July … it started early in the morning, and ended around 11 p.m.! We met the kids and Kristy’s parents Georgia and Alan at Sedrow Woolley for the Loggerodeo celebration. We started off at the parade (tons of tractors, kids, and trucks … Grason loved it). Then, we ate and then made our way to the carnival. En route we saw the wood carvers (amazing) and a tractor exhibit. We spent some time at the carnival watching the kids ride the rides. Then, we made our way to the Rodeo, where we watched bucking broncos, barrel racing, bull riding, and calf roping. Lynn and I then took the kids, and plan to keep them through Sunday. We first took them to dinner and then “set up camp” at the Birch Bay beach to watch the fireworks. We were totally amazed at the quanity and quality of the fireworks, which started in earnest around 9:45 and were going strong at 10:30 when we knew the kids were ready to call it a day! We literally poured them in bed.

Speaking of pouring … it’s been raining today, and since the kids really wanted to swim, we did eventually take them swimming (rain or not)! Otherwise it’s been a quiet day. We plan on church in the morning, followed by lunch and some more fun. Eventually we will end up taking them home to Mom and Dad where we will all enjoy an end-of-the-week BBQ at their house. They seem to be settled into their new home now. Next week will be quiet … the week after, the Koobatian’s will be arriving for a visit. We’re looking forward to that!

We realize that in a little over a month, we will be heading back to Fresno. Where has the time gone?  Enjoy the pics below.
